Astral projection is the loosing of one's mind from the body, usually through trance
induced by meditation or hypnotism. This is usually invoked to visit the astral plane,
or to visit locations remote from the body (a link with clairvoyance has been claimed).
However, it is also said that the freed mind can temporarily lodge in other bodies, and
that it has been used to "borrow" animal forms, sharing the animal's body with its own
mind. I haven't heard of this being tried with horses, but I have read of it being tried
successfully with wolves and eagles.
